According to the data reported by GfK Temax, the Italian market of TCG closed a very positive Q4. Technical Consumer Goods (TCG), in fact, registered a robust growth (+2.5 percent), totalizing a revenue of 5.9 billion euro. The most surprising results have been that of Small and Major Domestic Appliances, which respectively rose by +11.1% and +10.9%, marking the fastest growing sectors. A rise in revenue was registered also for Information Technology (IT) and Consumer Electronics (CE) sectors. After years of constant growth, the Telecommunications (TC) sector recorded a negative trend compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
The results of the whole year were also very positive. The TCG sector recorded a total increase by 2.1%, reaching 19 billion euro. Small Domestic Appliances (SDA) recorded a growth of 6.3% and Major Domestic Appliances (MDA) showed a trend of +1.3%. Driver of the fourth quarter has been also the Black Friday, especially for MDA, in which washing machines, cooling and tumble dryers have been the best-sellers. In the Small Domestic Appliances sector, instead, a positive performance has been pushed by Home Care and Personal Care segments. The double-digit growth of vacuum cleaners was driven by handstick rechargeable and robot segments. Personal Care positive trend was, then, sustained by dental care products, hair dryers, hair stylers and shavers.
