As written by Kerim Ülker on the Daily Sabah Business, Marc Bitzer, vice chairman of Whirlpool Corporation, announced that new investments will be made in Turkey, strategic country for the company business (after the acquisition of Indesit), with 200 million inhabitants and an interesting outlet to Central Asia. Bitzer also explained that just Turkey is one of the reasons of the Indesit’s take-over. Whirlpool, in fact, has not been able yet to root in the country, where it is very active anyway but does not have local plants. Indesit, instead, has a refrigerators production plant and another of washing machines in Manisa (in the western part of the country).
«We want to increase this factory’s capacity – Bitzer declared – our priority goal is to improve our commercial network».
