Whirlpool Corporation has been named by Forbes Magazine in its Just 100 list, a recognition that celebrates America’s best corporate citizens. The home appliance producer obtained the nomination thanks to different factors. The first is the company activity in engineering energy-efficient consumer products, as witnessed by the 38 Energy Star Awards received since 1998, for continued commitment to energy and water efficient products. But Forbes’ ranking also cited Whirlpool Corporation’s commitment to diversity, which has led to a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s U.S. Corporate Equality Index for the past 13 years and a continued designation as a Best Place to Work company for LGBT Equality. «We’re proud of this recognition – stated Jeff Fettig, chairman and chief executive officer at Whirlpool Corporation – which is a strong testament to our commitment to social responsibility in all aspects of our business — from providing a great workplace for our employees and instilling trust in our stakeholders, to delivering more environmentally-efficient products for our consumers.»
