Google Trends: strong position for Haier and the Chinese brands

According to Google Trends data about worldwide popularity of home appliance brands in 2017, five Chinese brands resulted to be more and more strong in eight selected countries of the world, including the U.S., Germany, France and Japan. Haier remains the most popular brand with a high index in each of these remains the most popular brand with the highest index in each of these markets. The others are Midea, GREE, TCL and Hisense.
Made-in-China has been changing in the latest decades, after the 40th anniversary of China’s “Reform and Opening Up.” Over the past 40 years, countless marks of “Made in China” have been printed on products that are sold worldwide. Some of the strongest companies have also followed important internationalization strategies, as Haier that has merged with Fisher&Paykel from New Zealand, GE Appliances from the U.S. and Sanyo Electric Co. from Japan, and has been benefiting from the emerging global synergy effects.
