Today is EU Industry Day and Ceced Europe could not miss the occasion to underline once again the important role of home appliances sector in the European context. But the development of the industry needs the unlocking of the Digital Single Market opportunities. This is why Paolo Falcioni, Ceced Director-General urges policy makers to focus on improving the economic environment for business operators, the drivers of growth and wealth creation. Focus is needed on supporting Europe’s growing Digital Single Market, while safeguarding the industry’s ability to innovate. «Industry 4.0 – Falcioni explained – is an opportunity that can be grasped if policy makers are providing the necessary conditions. To foster the positive role the Home Appliance sector has for Europeans, we need a fully functional Single Market and a coherent body of legislation to unlock the potential of its digital version. | New Ceced workshop In the context of the revisions of the energy labelling and eco-design regulations for refrigerators and freezers, Ceced Europe presents another workshop about testing methods. The event, co-hosted by Ceced Italia, will take place on 31 March 2017 from 10.00 to 17.00 at IMQ testing laboratory, Milan (Italy). In this occasion, experts in standardization will present the new IEC performance standard, also in comparison to the current EN performance standard. Participants will be able to witness how refrigerators are tested in a laboratory and discuss what is at stake with the coming new regulations.
