Gaggenau, the luxury brand for professional-grade home appliances, announced the starting of the Respected by Gaggenau 2021 accolade. It is a commitment from the brand, to support artisans who value quality above all else. From farmers preserving rare breeds, to craftspeople hand-making exceptional products; Gaggenau is searching Europe for exceptional makers and producers in the categories of culinary, viniculture and design. The nominations will be focused on eight European countries: Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the UK. After the selection, three artisans or businesses – one from the fields of culinary, viniculture and design – will be announced as Respected by Gaggenau 2021. They will receive a promotional package to support their business, including videography and photography created by Gaggenau, which showcases their craft. Those who receive the Respected by Gaggenau accolade will also become an official Gaggenau global brand partner for 2021.
brand has appointed twenty-five international curators to help identify the Europe-based nominees. The Country Curators and Gaggenau have compared the nominees against a rigorous criteria based on the brand’s own values. Each nominee must be proven to be ‘progressive’, ‘cultivated’, ‘conscientious’ and ‘extraordinary’. All four of these criteria points create reasoning as to why the nominee is ‘inspiring’.
«Respected by Gaggenau – explained Peter Goetz, Managing Director of Gaggenau – is borne out of everything that we as a brand, have always done. In every partnership or event, we seek out the extraordinary; inspiring people who reflect the Gaggenau ethos. Building on partnerships with exclusive restaurant awards and our own Gaggenau Sommelier Awards, we wanted to return to the soul of the home – the kitchen. Every nominee for the Respected by Gaggenau accolade must be connected to the kitchen or the dining table in some way. We hope to support people that are creating excellence in their industry through innovation, or protecting traditional methods and techniques, especially during these difficult times. We would like Gaggenau users to discover these artisans, so they can enjoy their exceptional products and produce in their homes.»
