World Economic Forum: the Italian Rold in the companies of Manufacturing Lighthouses

The World Economic Forum will add seven new factories to its network of “Manufacturing Lighthouses”, that already includes nine leaders in how to successfully adopt and integrate the cutting-edge technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Rold, located in Cerro Maggiore, Italy, is one of them. This company, specialized in the manufacturing of mechanisms for washing machines and dishwashers has 240 employees is the only SME in the Lighthouse network, thanks to its use of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies such as smart watches, rapid prototyping and digital dashboards that has helped improve turnover by between 7% and 8%. The Forum selected these companies, among a choice of 1,000 manufacturers based on their successful implementation of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies in ways that have driven financial and operational impact.
These cultural leaders will join their peers from business, government, the media and civil society to advance dialogue on how inclusivity and sustainability can be the pillars of change under the meeting’s theme, Globalization 4.0: Shaping a Global Architecture in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting brings together government, business, international organizations, civil society, cultural leaders, media, experts and young leaders from all over the world.
