Marc R. Bitzer has named president and chief operating officer of Whirlpool Corporation. In this new role, Bitzer, also appointed to the Whirlpool Board of Directors, will be responsible for all global operations. Bitzer joined Whirlpool Europe in 1999 as vice president of the Bauknecht brand and has assumed other important roles in the following years. In November 2014 he was named vice chairman, with accountability for the company’s North American and European businesses.
