Electrolux proudly supported the Swedish government-organized ‘Hack the Crisis’ hackathon event organized with the goal to develop concepts to help the fight against Covid-19. Electrolux was one of many companies who signed up to support the hackathon which took place digitally between 3-6 April. 7,400 took part in the event from across Swedish society – public sector, private sector, academia, non-profit and citizens.
«When I was asked if Electrolux could partner the hackathon – of course the answer was yes. Hackathons are a great way to develop innovative solutions at speed which is exactly what our society needs right now – said Electrolux Innovation Hub Director Tove Chevalley. – We will offer our expertise to help scale winning ideas into workable solutions that can make a difference in this fight against Covid-19.»
Hack the Crisis is a global phenomenon which takes place every year. At the end of March, the Swedish government made the quick decision to focus this year’s already-planned Swedish hackathon on finding solutions to the Covid-19 challenge.
A mix of 26 Electrolux employees also gave their free time to participate as hackers – from designers, to programmers, to HR and business functions.
