UK: wine cellar and hoods drives the growth

According to GfK Temax, the UK market of home appliances closed the last year with a value growth of 2.8% for major appliances sector and an increase of 0.4% for small domestic devices. Consumer electronics and Brown Goods recorded a growth of 1.4%, while the total market of technical consumer goods (TCG) marked an increase by 5.3%. Although the overall trend is positive, only some segments closed the year with a good performance. As reported by GfK, among these, consumers in the United Kingdom showed a particular predilection for kitchen appliances such as wine cabinets and cooker hoods. In the final part of 2017, small domestic appliances were driven especially by vacuum cleaners, but also hair dryers, dental care, kettles, toasters and hot beverage makers recorded a good fourth quarter. Negative trends, instead, has been recorded by drink chillers, freezers, cooking categories and hair stylers.
Regarding consumer electronics, positive trend was visible for TVs, video game consoles and audio home systems which led to overall growth within consumer electronics.
