Which?, a famous consumer organization in the UK that every year tests several household products, conducted a large survey about the most and least reliable domestic appliance brands in 16 product categories, including washing machines, vacuum cleaners, fridge-freezers and many more. During the survey almost 8,500 responses were collected . The first result was that hob is the home appliance that lasts the longest: this cooking device tends to be the most reliable type of home appliance included in the Which? survey, with nine in ten still fault free after even ten years. By contrast, according to Which? responses freestanding cookers are the least reliable type of appliance – more than a third develop a fault in the first ten years. This increases to almost half for the least reliable brand of freestanding cooker. Which? also underlines that there are big differences between the best and worst brands and in some cases, user can almost double the chance of getting a fault in the first ten years with an unreliable brand. And it isn’t always the most expensive brands that have the best reliability ratings. The report results are published on the Which? website http://www.which.co.uk
