Elica, Italian company specialized in the manufacturing of design kitchen hoods has received the Good Design Awards 2016, assigned by the prestigious Chicago Athenaeum to Summilux, Bio and NikolaTesla models. The latter is Elica’s first aspirating induction hob equipped with very advanced technologies and characterized by distinctive design, strong lines and high quality material. It combines the functions of two appliances into one single product: it features all the advantages of induction hobs, such as rapid cooking and easy cleaning. However, Elica added specific technologies, like the double bridge function that allows for two adjacent cooking zones to combine, so that large sized pots can be used. The aspirating system, positioned in the central zone, reaches high performance levels, in terms of fume extraction, noise level and energy efficiency (class A+). Fabrizio Crisà, the designer of all these hoods, commented the awards with words: «The Good Design Awards 2016 is the confirmation of the goodness of the innovation and research path we have undertaken. The fact that Nikola Tesla received several recognitions, fills us with pride and encourages us to continue working to create more and more technological and innovative products that help Elica to stand out on the market». For over sixty years the Good Design Awards has been recognizing the most innovative industrial, graphics and design products from around the world in partnership with The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.
