Whirlpool Canada received the 2016 Energy Star Manufacturer of the Year Appliances award from Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). The company, that is committed to creating water and energy-efficient products for homes throughout Canada and the world, received thirteen Energy Star Recognition Awards, including ten as Manufacturer of the Year, one as Participant of the Year, and two for Sustained Excellence. «We are proud to offer our consumers a variety of innovative, efficient and high-performance appliances for their home – stated Gary Power, vice president and general manager for Whirlpool Canada – and we are delighted to be recognized with the Manufacturer of the Year Appliances award again this year.» In 2015 Whirlpool Canada sold more than a half million units of Energy Star certified appliances led by a comprehensive re-launch of the KitchenAid brand. All KitchenAid brand dishwashers sold by the company were Energy Star certified. Last year, with the launch of its HybridCare clothes dryer with Heat Pump Technology, Whirlpool also certified its first Energy Star gas dryers.
