GreciaTCG, or technical consumer goods, recorded a very good first half 2015, with a total increase of 17,4% compared to the same period of 2014. The first six months were very positive also for small and major appliances, with a growth of 3,6% for the first segment and of 9,9% for the second one. This is what emerges from GfK Temax survey, that also underlines the main trends of both the sectors. So, in the Major Domestic Appliances there was a significant increase in the washing machines segment as the desired drum capacity increased to 9kg. In addition, tumble dryers reported an increasingly positive performance, while maintaining average prices at high levels.
The built-in segment, following a long period of poor performance, remained stable with attractive average prices a significant factor influencing this result. Small Domestic Appliances: positive performance for the second quarter of the year. As regards the Small Domestic Appliances, GfK underlines that for the second quarter, most of the categories recorded growth in terms of value. In the personal care segment, growing segments included electric toothbrushes and hair clippers.
