Z.Island Ernestomeda_Arts&Food Triennale

Ernestomeda, Italian company of high-end design kitchens, is present with its Z.Island kitchen at “Arts & Foods. Rituals from 1851”, exhibition organized at the Milan Triennale until November 1, 2015. The event represent the only Pavilion of Expo in the city: it is articulated on about 7,000 square meters, and reflects the theme of the Universal Exposition of Milan – Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life – through hundreds of works, objects and documents from museums, public institutions and companies, collectors and artists from around the world. A real journey through the time, showing how the rites of nutrition and conviviality have changed from 1851, year of the first Expo, until today. Z.Island, kitchen environment designed by Zaha Hadid in collaboration with Ernestomeda and DuPont ™, is shown in the last part of the exhibition, dedicated to current times. This model is characterized by innovative elements that involve the processing of materials, the structural organization and the integration of advanced technology. The structure of the kitchen is made by a single block with a stove, with the insertion of a monitor that shows videos especially created for the exhibition.
