White Goods grow by 20% in Turkey

According to GfK Temax data, the Turkish market of technical consumer goods (TCG) recorded a very good 2017, with a total value growth of 14%. Major domestic appliances closed the last year with the biggest increase among all the segments: +19.5%. During the last quarter, tumble dryers and cooking categories showed strong positive growth rates, while cooling struggled and freezers recorded double digit negative growth. From October to December small domestic appliances turnover recorded a growth of 20%. The sector, during the year increased by 8.8%. Cyclonic filter vacuum cleaners and ironing systems are still the most prominent segments but also hot beverage makers, sandwich/waffle/grills, food preparation and vacuum cleaners led to the excessive growth of the sector. The demand for Turkish coffee makers and contact grill mono also increased.
Regarding Brown Goods, finally, GfK recorded a total value growth by 10.7% during the whole 2017. Soundbar, Bluetooth speakers and Camcorders showed high growth rates in the final quarter.
High contribution is coming from HDR, UHD and +55 inches TVs, while, like in many other regions, Car navigations and DVD player/recorder showed decline in revenue.
