Good performace for the Turkish market

According to GfK Temax, sales in technical consumer goods (TCG) market in Turkey increased by 19.4 percent in Q3 2017, compared to Q3 2016. Almost all the sectors recorded very good performance, especially telecommunication, major domestic appliances (MDA) and consumer electronics (CE) sectors performed well – up by 23.8 percent, 21.6 percent and 19.1 percent respectively. Regarding major domestic appliances, all product groups performed double digit growth, but the strongest contributors to the overall growth were No Frost bottom freezer coolers, 9 kg loading capacity washing machines and upright freezers. The approaching to the end of cancellation of OTV taxes also had a positive effect. In small domestic appliances sector, instead, the best sellers were hot beverage makers, sandwich/waffle/grills and vacuum cleaners. Increased demand for cyclonic vacuum cleaners and Turkish coffee makers were the main motivators, as underlined by GfK. In this market, also electronics consumer recorded a double digit growth, thanks to PTV, AHS, soundbar, Bluetooth speakers and camcorders. Main drivers are HDR, UHD and +60 inches TVs, while car navigations, DVD player/recorder, headphones grew negatively.
