Whirlpool is on 2017 Dow Jones Sustainability Index

Whirlpool Corporation has been included on the 2017 Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index for its commitment to sustainability and natural resource efficiency.
The company, that opened a corporate office for environmental control in 1970, has collected a great number of actions aimed to improve sustainability. For example, it has pioneered a project, in a partnership with Purdue University, to retrofit an existing home to achieve net zero water, waste and energy with the ReNEWW House project. Moreover, it has also installed wind turbines to help power its manufacturing facility in Findlay, Ohio, and has created the Zera™ Food Recycler from WLabs of Whirlpool Corporation -an in-home food recycler designed to help combat food waste.
